  • I'm a TQI registered teacher, how can I gain my professional learning?

Please scroll down this page for more detailed instructions. All the sessions that have been accredited for TQI are now categorised at https://pd.generationnext.com.au/collections/tqi. As part of the course completion, TQI accredited teachers will need to submit the short form 'TQI Registered Teacher Documentation' that is contained in the accredited course (upon submission, a copy will be emailed for your records). Submitting the form indicates that you would like to have the time added to your 2-hour block of TQI hours. Accreditation will be uploaded upon completion of 2 hours worth of accredited sessions. This allows teachers to choose their own program that has the most relevance to their own teaching practice. Each week, TQI are notified for all registered teachers who have completed two hours of learning as indicated by the time on the course certificate. Every two hours of learning you complete (triggered by completing the 'TQI Registered Teacher Documentation'form) will be applied to your TQI register. For example, if you have completed 2 x 45 minute sessions and a 30 minute session, gained your certificate of completion and submitted your 'TQI Registered Teacher Documentation' form, 2 hours of learning will be applied, this will occur again once you have accumulated the next 2 hours of learning.

  • I'm a NESA registered teacher, how can I gain my professional learning?

Please scroll down this page for more detailed instructions. NESA registered teachers must ensure their registration number is included in the 'My Account' section of their portal. You can claim NESA registered professional development for select sessions on the hub. You will need to complete NESA Practice Documents for the sessions you would like to claim. These are available within applicable sessions as well as from pd.generationnext.com.au/collections/nesa. All instructions are in the documents. A member of the Generation Next Learning Team will review your submission and you will receive an email within two weeks regarding the status. If your submission is approved, this email will confirm that NESA has been notified. You will also gain a further certificate for your records.

  • Where can I get my certificate?

  • Can I avoid having to find the cars, crosswalk, fire hydrants etc when I log in?

Yes, this is a security device that we have to have to protect the site. If you tick the 'remember me' box when you login, you won't have to do it on that device and browser next time, you'll just automatically login.

  • I can't click 'register', the site isn't working properly for me

The Internet Explorer browser is has been discontinued but is still the default browser for many people. Please upgrade to Microsoft Edge or switch to Chrome, Firefox or Safari. If you're accessing on your mobile, please use iOS 11 and up, Chrome or Samsung Internet. If you're still having trouble, please contact us at info@generationnext.com.au or on 1300 797 794

  • How do I change the resolution on the videos?

You can adjust the video quality by clicking the cog on the video player and trying a different resolution. We make all the videos as optimized as we can but different computers, browsers, internet speed/quality all make for variances. If it's a persistent problem, you may need to try switching device or browser.

  • Why aren't videos loading for me?

If your videos aren’t loading, there are a number of possible causes and solutions. 1. Check which browser you’re using a. Internet Explorer is no longer supported. Try Chrome/Firefox/Edge/Safari 2. Check if you’re running an adblocker (usually represented by a red icon in the top right area of your browser). a. See if you can disable it for our website by clicking on the icon b. You can also try opening an Incognito/Private window which may disable adblockers 3. If the page is blank, the video may be blocked by your school/organisation firewall a. Try loading the page from home or on a non-work device b. Talk to your IT department to see if it can be unblocked 4. If the video is loading slowly, it may be that your internet connection isn’t fast enough a. Go to https://www.fast.com/ - we recommend at least 15mbps for a smooth video experience.

  • Do you have Closed Captions on your videos?

We have them on most videos and are working on the rest. You can turn them on by clicking CC on the bottom right hand side of the video player.

Courses on the Mental Health & Wellbeing of Young People Hub are split into 4 sections which are:

  • Introduction
    • Welcome! - this contains a topic summary/overview and information about the expert who has delivered this presentation.
    • Download your handbook - this is where you can download a PDF version of the presentations slides or notes for the presentation. It can be printed but for environmental reasons we have also made it an editable PDF where you can type your notes as you watch the video presentation.

To use the editable PDF please ensure you have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC installed on your device. Your notes will not save when opened in a web browser. You must first save the file to your computer and reopen it in Adobe to use the editing feature. You can download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC here.

  • Presentation - here is where you can watch the video presentation. You are required to complete each video. You will know you’ve completed a section when a tick appears in the circle next to the relevant section title in the progress bar (see below).

Settings for closed captions, volume, screen resolution and full screen are located on the bottom right hand corner of the video player.

  • Reflection- this section is designed to reinforce your learning and highlight the key takeaways from the session
    • Test your learning - this section contains a 'Test your Learning' quiz with multiple choice questions.

In keeping with best practice for online learning, our quizzes do require a passing grade of 100% but if you don’t get all of the questions correct, that's okay! You can retake the quiz. The quiz will indicate which questions you got correct and which were incorrect and give you a passing percentage when completed.

    • TQI Registered Teacher Documentation- this is for TQI registered teachers. If you are not a TQI registered to can click

If you are a TQI registered teacher and you would like to claim this session as part of your 2 hour block, click and complete the form. You will receive a summary email. When you have completed 2 hours of accredited sessions, we will notify TQI and upload your hours. You can find a list of accredited sessions here and more information about claiming TQI on our FAQs page.

  • Feedback – a short section for you to let us know how we’re doing. You can leave any feedback – general or related to the session - here. You can also include questions or suggestions for topics and speakers you would like to see on the hub in future.

How do I get my certificate of completion?

In order to achieve a certificate of completion you must reach 100% completion for the session.

Make sure you have clicked the 'complete and continue' button after each section, have a tick next to all parts of the the progress bar and '100% complete' at the top. Once this happens your certificate of completion will be automatically generated and a button will appear for download.

You can also view, keep track and download all of your certificates in the 'My Account' section of the portal.
