Dr Huu Kim Le

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr Huu Kim Le is an Australian Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, based in Adelaide, South Australia. He grew up playing computer games and was always fascinated by digital worlds. A chance meeting with a patient who shared their mental illness with their online avatar, inspired Dr Le to specialise in psychiatry and follow the growing research on Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) in children and adolescents. In 2015, Dr Le was awarded an international Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He conducted an investigation at the Institute of Mental Health in Singapore on IGD in children and adolescents. He has traveled internationally to collaborate with researchers in South Korea, Japan, India and Canada. He has also given a TEDx Talk “The Spell of Digital Immersion” in 2015 at Adelaide Town Hall. Following his international experience, Dr Le founded cgiclinic.com, a website to increase Internet awareness for families and parents. With a growing demand for specialist treatment for IGD, Dr Le has begun treating children with this disorder in Adelaide. In 2017, Dr Le has begun to collaborate with The University of Adelaide, conducting live workshops for medical students.
